Challenge
of the Future are an aggressive art-rock band from New York
City. Their five members originally met at Bard College in 1993,
and formed an experimental after-hours unit that worked under
the name Boba Fett. After
several limited-edition releases and singles, they transplanted
to NYC in 1996. Since then, COTFuture have had one foot in Manhattan's
clubs (The Cooler, Brownies, Coney Island High, The Knitting
Factory, Mercury Lounge, etc.), and the other in Brooklyn's
ultra-hip underground venues. They've played alongside The Fall,
Thinking Fellers Union Local 282, Alan Vega, and Pan Sonic,
and at the 1996 New York Independent Music Festival, The 1998
Intel Fest, and had their soundtracks played at the 1999 New
York Underground Film Festival.
After
the release of their debut LP, "Everyone Everyone Everyone,"
They embarked on "The Tour of Northern Aggression" with fellow
NYC band Flux Information Sciences, and swung through Athens,
Atlanta, Charleston, Columbia, and Washington, D.C.
